Knowledge and classification of electrical resistance

Resistance is the ability to material blocking the electron flow, namely the resistance value, unit is: "ohm (Ω)". A resistor is a device that has a certain resistance to current flow. In circuit analysis and practical work, resistor is usually referred to as resistance for the convenience of expression.

Resistor (English name for the Resistor) and potentiometer is commonly used in electronic circuits of electronic components.

Common resistors fall into three categories:

Resistors with fixed resistors are called ordinary resistors or fixed resistors. A resistor whose resistance value is continuously variable is called a variable resistor (including adjustable resistor and potentiometer); Resistors with special functions are called sensitive resistors or special resistors (thermistors, photoresistors and voltage-sensitive resistors).

Resistors are mainly responsible for voltage limiting, current limiting, voltage dividing and shunt functions in electronic circuits. They can also interact with other capacitors, inductors and crystals
